Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Monday’s trading in the green, encouraged by the growth of the banking sector.
By 11:00 am Qatar time, the general index jumped 197.03 points, or 2.42%, to 8,449.69 points.
Turnover amounted to QAR 97.07 million after 1.69 million shares changed hands through 901 transactions.
The banking sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 4.01% as Qatar National Bank (QNB) levelled up 7.2%.
Similarly, the industrial sector went up 1.34% on the back of Industries Qatar’s 1.61% hike, while the goods sector advanced 1.05% after Zad Holding Company surged 10%.
QNB led the bourse in terms of trading volume with 535,900 shares, generating QAR 66.8 million.
